The Indigenous Hipster

This is a collection of indigenous Cordilleran people wearing hipster garb, without the irony. A photo story.
Fangud is the last headhunter tattoo artist in the Cordilleras. She lives in a pretty shack in Kalinga. It has an amazing mountain view. To get to her place you have to hike 2 hours and go around the mountains. That’s a great way to achieve security right? Make your home inaccessible to outsiders. In spite this, many people hike to her residence and request her to mark them. Fangud’s tattoos are for beauty or a personal statement or a reminder of the beauty of Kalinga.
At 90 Fangud still tattoos. Her eyes are starting to get watery.
